The company OMP PORRO, standing for the abbreviation “Officine Meccaniche Porro” in English “Porro mechanical workshops”, was founded as a small hardware workshop by Alfredo Porro in 1946 immediately after the end of the Second World War.
In 1960, his son Giuseppe took the reins of the company, introducing two-tone combinations in handles, which would become trendy designs in the 1970s.
In 1982 the third generation of the Porro family joined the company, continuing along the path of searching for quality raw materials and maintaining artisan roots, continued to search for innovative solutions to achieve indisputably beautiful and perfect products.
In 2000, the company moved to new premises designed to be a set of several artisan workshops that replaced the production lines.
In 2005 Officine Meccaniche Porro and the Enrico Cassina brand, another manufacturer of door and furniture handles, joined forces to maintain the catalogue and the experience gained throughout their history.
OMP PORRO catalogue offers more than 3.000 handles, knobs and coat hooks (divided in more than 16 collections, from vintage to modern design), with a huge variety of brass and aluminum handles.
